Welcome to wiki for the ACEMS + the Bureau of Meteorology 2017 Collaborative Workshop!

Summary of Outcomes

The workshops was conducted on August 7th at the Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne. It was a great success with a total of 17 participants with 8 from the Bureau and 9 from ACEMS. The morning was spent with presentations from both ACEMS and The Bureau (presentation can be seen here) which set the scene for a lively discussion about potential projects in the afternoon.

Of the projects identified we worked to prioritise these based on ease of execution and participants interest. The first priority projects were:

  • Satellite Remote Sensing Data
  • Dealing with Non-Normality
  • Using Data Assimilation for Quality Control of Climate Data
  • Next Generation High Quality Rainfall Datasets
  • Uncertainty Quantification, Visualisation and Communication
