Venue & Accomodation

The retreat this year will be hosted at the Mantra Legends at Surfers paradise. Both the Main Retreat and ECR Retreat will be held at the same venue.

Accomodation is available from Sunday night (October 29th) to Friday morning (November 3rd). Sunday night accomodation will only be booked for you if you have indicated on the registration form that it is required.

Travel

Please arrange travel through the standard travel procedures at your node. Each node is responsible for travel costs to the retreat.

South-east Queensland (including Brisbane and the Gold Coast) use the go card as the primary way of paying for travel. A small deposit is required to buy the card and it can be recharged at 7/11 stores, train stations, tram stops and busway stations, or online. Only Queensland students qualify for a student discount, but the use of the go card is cheaper than the use of single paper tickets. Once you have a go card you will be able to use it on all TransLink trains, buses, ferries and trams.

Travel from Gold Coast Airport to Mantra Legends

1. Taxi from airport direct to hotel door ~$60.
2. Uber from airport direct to hotel door ~$50.
3. 777 bus from airport, transferring at Broadbeanch South for G-Link tram to Surfers Paradise, and then a one block walk - $3.90 after purchase of go card or $5.70 for a single paper ticket. Buses leave every 15 minutes.

Travel from Brisbane Airport to Mantra Legends

If you have chosen to fly to Brisbane, it is probably not feasible to catch a taxi or Uber to the Gold Coast as it's about 90km by car and will take over an hour. Your options are:

1. Airtrain from Brisbane Domestic airport, departing every 15-30 minutes (depending on time of day) between 5am-10pm Monday-Friday, 6am-10pm Saturday, and 6am-9pm Sunday. Alight at Nerang station for a bus to Surfers Paradise. Use the TransLink journey planner to confirm which bus option is best
2. Airport shuttle, bookable through the Mantra Legends reception (07) 5588 7888

Who covers what costs?

ACEMS central will cover accommodation and catering at the retreat. Your node is responsible for covering your travel and any other costs.
