I haven't played this pack in a few weeks and fired it up again tonight (10/29) I've updated to the most recent version and have been playing for 2-3 hours, mining and what not and I've killed a total of 8 hostile mobs and 2 of them were from a zombie dungeon spawner. I seem to remember the spawn rate being fairly decent in any dark areas of the map. Can you check to see if something was changed in the configs with the previous updates?

Edit: I generated my new world in Biomes O' Plenty, I'm not sure if that could be the reason given that my other maps have been default world gens.

Also, the spawn rate above ground seems to be fine, during dark hours there are plenty of spawns but they are definitely lacking underground.

curious where were you mining? did you light up the area as you went along?
I know if your in a area for a while the mobs wont spawn near you.

I was mining in the boreal forest and Chaparral biomes. The areas that I was exploring were below ground with no light, undiscovered caves that I eventually lit up as I progressed, I understand that lighting things up above a light level of 7 will stop mob spawns but there were no mobs in these dark areas to begin with and my y coordinate was between 8-40

This doesn't look like an easy one, but I'll see if I can figure out what might be limiting this.

additional for some reason after galacticraft was added near spawn the mobs meant for the moon were spawning near frodos base
