<h1>Overview</h1>
<p><b>wxmtxy</b> provides usaxs operational support to users,
allowing them to define a table of samplesand provides a one-button click to drive
the stage to a specific sample setting. Users can also define USAXS parameters and export
the sample list to a USAXS macro.</p>
<p>In the Graphical User Interface (GUI), tooltips are provided
for most items. Moving and pausing the mouse over a widget
(GUI component such as a button or a label) will cause a terse
description of that widget to be displayed. Moving the mouse
away will cause that tooltip to disappear.</p>
<p>For more help, explanations of wxmtusaxs functions are provided in the HTML pages
you are viewing now.</p>
<h3>Create a new tab/sample set</h3>
You can add a new tab to the end of the list of tabs
to document a set of samples to be run concurrently (e.g, a paddle of USAXS samples).
Make a new tab by selecting the <em>Page</em> menu, <em>Create new tab</em> item.
Note that Ctrl+t is a keyboard shortcut for the same menu selection.
<h3>Create a new Row</h3>
You can add a new row to the end of the displayed tab
to document a new sample.
Make a new row by selecting the <em>Page</em> menu, <em>Create new row</em> item.
Note that Ctrl+r is a keyboard shortcut for the same menu selection.
<h3>Save the settings to a Settings File</h3>
To save the current settings to a file, select the <em>File</em> menu,
<em>Save As ...</em> item.
<br/>
<p>
<a href="graphics/fig13.png"><img
src="graphics/fig13.png" alt="Figure 13"/></a>
</p>
<p>A save file window will appear. Navigate to a directory
to save your settings, enter a name <em>with the extension <tt>.XML</tt></em>
and finish your task.
</p>
<p>
<a href="graphics/fig14.png"><img
src="graphics/fig14.png" alt="Figure 14"/></a>
</p>
<h3>Export USAXS macro</h3>
<p>You can export the current tab as a usaxs macro by clicking the export button
in the toolbar, or using the File>Export USAXS Macro command. The save location and name
will default to the current USAXS data directory and usaxs.mac. </p>

<h1>Files</h1>
<p>The "Text positions file" is a plain text file and can be
prepared with any text editor. The file describes a set
of positions to be loaded into a Tab of the wxmtxy application.
It contains an arbitrary number of rows. Each row contains
three values, separated by tabs.
The values are "label X_position Y_position"
where the positions are in "mm".
An example is provided
(<a href="examples/standard-paddle.txt">examples/standard-paddle.txt</a>)
that describes the positions on the standard 4-column paddle.</p>
<p>Users will likely produce a"Text positions file" by preparing a
spreadsheet with sample description (label) and X,Y positions
on the sample paddle. The origin (0,0) is the notch on the
upper-right edge of the paddle.</p>
