Hey BURGr,

These are the themes we came up with last night. we will have 3 social events so there isn't enough room to cover all of them in 2017. I suggest we take out number 3, and do this at another time, for example - a half day on a Saturday.

What are peoples preferences? We need to narrow it down to 6 or combine a few together.

  1. Machine learning in R
  2. Git, developing an R package
  3. Competition / kaggle session /project session (this could happen at a different time)
  4. Time series
  5. Spatial analysis
  6. Visualisation
  7. Newby session
  8. 12 months in review
  9. IDEs
  10. Big Data. (Microsoft products, Open Source Frameworks).

Now that I have two packages on CRAN and one as a part of of ROpenSci, I'm happy to contribute to developing an R package.

I act like I know how to use Git and Github, but I'm not really sure that I'm capable of teaching someone else how to.
