Hi guys!
Since deformer arrived it would be great to have some kinds of surface which get textured with the colors of the terrain below them. For example to level fighting positions buried in the ground with deformer. Ideal would be a selection of surface sizes like 4x4 metres, 4x2 meters, 4x8 metres or something like that to cover up holes in the ground in the 3den editor.

IMO they wouldn't even need to be buildable for players, but your functionality giving the ground texture to an object would really help mission builders to get better emplacements done.

I'm not quite sure what you want to do. Could you elaborate?

I started building trenches or foxholes with deformer by using the trench objects as you can see in the screenshot i added:

Works great if the green/brown of the trenches fits the ground. Does not work for colorwise desert maps for example, but your trenches do since they apply the ground texture to themselves.
So what i'm asking is if you could add a somewhat flat surface, like 2x2 or 4x4 metres, that applies the groundtexture to itself and can be used to cover up the deformer holes like i did in the screenshot with the trench objects. Ideally in several sizes, but i don't know how much work this is. Hope this explanation was better.

So what he wants is a walkable Surface as a floor for his trenches that uses the same groundtexture update mechanic then the other trenches. If my understanding is correct, that should only entail modelling 2-3 very basic shapes and exporting them and then defining them in config.
