Badge cannot update

I am trying to update badge programmatically and it just won't refresh for some reason.
It stays with the old value.
Any idea?

you can use global variable

Kotlin example

private var badgeView: BadgeView

@Override
    public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) {
       badgeView = BadgeFactory.createCircle(context)
    }

private fun updateBadge() {
        badgeView.setBadgeCount(3).setTextSize(10).setBadgeGravity(Gravity.TOP or Gravity.LEFT).bind(imgView)
