The April surprise is great. There should be more themed image sets for special occasions. This could act similarly to the Google homepage. This should probably periodically check a server so there aren't constantly extension updates. I would be interested in helping write this.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I haven't really been maintaining this project lately, but I would accept a PR if you got it working.

Make sure people can opt out easily though, because themed images could get annoying.
