Activating a conda environment in GitKraken Terminal doesn't work

After creating the openscpca environment using this file, running conda activate openscpca did not work in the GitKraken Terminal. It worked fine in Terminal, which suggests it is something specific to GitKraken Terminal.

It appears that the environment may indeed be correctly activated, but the prompt doesn't refresh from saying (base).
