Will this integration continue? #236

The same here.. it would be nice if Andre just could answer like: "Guys, I cannot work on this integration" - then maybe someone else could fork and take over. It makes no sense if Andre is going to work on the integration in some realistic not-too-long time. |
I am not a developer, but I was using this great integration as a Home Assitant user. Unfortunately, 3 months ago (or something around it) it stopped working. But that's not everything. My official hOn application also stopped seeing my device as online. I have ruled out network issues on my end. I can see in firewall logs that my device tries to connect to services in AWS on mqtt port, but there is not really any traffic. This is only an assumption but could it be that Haier started to blacklist their customers? My induction hob is still in warranty period so I opened a ticket with Haier hOn app support. It's been a month already and it's no going well... How many times will they want me to restart the router before they admit that the problem is not on my side? |
For me is simple, I did bite the bullet and bought a refrigerator ... but I'll not buy anything else from Haier, initially wanted to buy washer dryer etc ... I sow this integration and say ok lets give it a try, but since is not ok, I'll go LG or Samsung way! |
For the time being I am using https://github.com/gvigroux/hon. I only have 6 Haier AirConditioners, and it handles them quite well. It lacked some features present in Andre's integration, but now (in the recent update) some of them were added (silent mode, display off and something else), so hopefully it will be better and better. And what is most important - it is stable. I haven't had any issues with some unexpected changes causing the integration to stop, which unfortunately was the case for this integration. It's a pity that Andre stopped working on his version, I liked it and highly apprieciated the effort he needed to put to make it working, but it is also another pity that Andre is not telling his plans, so we don't know if to count this integration to evolve or we should just let it go. |
Maybe his lawyer told him to stay low... |
Why would a lawyer be involved? Sorry, but did Andre break the law? Where? I assume you're joking. I don't see any reason why the HomeAssistant integration would be a violation. |
Hi there,
Can anyone update this community on whether this integration will continue? There were some problems with Haier company and too many API requests earlier this year. Now we can see that new version has not been introduced since few months...
I fully understand that this is a voluntary and unpaid activity and I fully respect and am deeply grateful that someone took the time to create this integration, but I'd just like to know :)
Thank you
