Power on and Boot the DataStorm DAQ

The DataStorm DAQ development kit is designed to run as a standalone desktop computer. Connect a keyboard, mouse and HDMI display to operate in this mode.

The following components are needed to Boot the DataStorm DAQ:

  • Trenz Intel® Cyclone® V SoC TEI0022 Development Board (includes 12VDC power supply)
  • Monitor with HDMI input
  • HDMI cable
  • Keyboard and Mouse with USB connectors
  • Micro SD card

Configure BOOTSEL DIP Switches

Select the SD card as the boot source for the processor.



Configure FMC_VADJ DIP Switches

Assemble the Hardware

Follow the steps in the order shown below.

  1. Insert the Micro SD card into the SD card slot.
  2. Attach the monitor to the TEI0022 using an HDMI cable
  3. Attach the keyboard and mouse to the TEI0022 using any of the 4 USB ports
  4. Connect the power supply to the TEI0022
  5. Plug the AC-DC adapter into an AC outlet

Wait approximately 30 seconds for the DataStorm DAQ to boot.

The default desktop will appear on the HDMI display. The IIO Oscilloscope application will be automatically launched. Close both IIO Oscilloscope windows.
