Users guide to real car

Hardware Requirements ( outside the material already in Automec’s inventory)

1.Laptop

2.Laptop charger

3.Smartphone with ROS-Mobile installed

4.Smartphone charger

Note1: before starting the work with the car it is necessary to check if the car batteries are charged, with one of 3 ways. 1.Using the charger with the built in mode to battery check

2.Using the external battery checker

3.Pluging in to the car, turning the ESC ON and checking the lights( if it is blinking slow red then it needs to charge)

Note2: the text editor usually used is gedit

Note3: the terminal usually used is terminator

Setting up the manual driving

Laptop-smartphone communication

Step1 To drive the car the laptop + smartphone need to be connected to the same wifi network. In practice this means creating an hotspot on the smartphone and accessing that same network from the laptop.

Now that the PC and Smartphone are one the same network they can communicate using ROS-MOBILE
