Data Mining Issues
Points of Discussion:
Does the data mining pick up all events and add them automatically? Answer: Events will be picked up from specific website we are mining. Events will need to go through moderator approval.
What if an organization had the event on the website but did not want to add it to Teudu? Answer: This could be solved through the edit feature? Russell suggested that we could email the event creators. The email address could be attained from a table associating organizations with email addresses. Just throwing out ideas here. Suggestions?
And how does it all work if the event details are in a state of constant change on an organization website? I do not know. Suppose the org changes the time of an event. We will see a new event at this time. How can we tell that these two events are the same? Hmm... ideas?
Each change would have to be approved by the moderator…how are you managing information overload (for the moderator) in that respect? We estimated that there will be 15-20 events that must be approved per day, after the initial burst of events.
(VP: I meant in terms of changes, what if there's a change, the moderator approves it, the next day there's another change, the moderator approves that, etc.. this can amount to a lot of approvals)
