Abstract

Creating a comprehensive NFT marketplace and auction platform utilizing the Neo ecosystem.
Our project aims to create a dynamic platform where artists and collectors can
issue, display, and exchange NFT assets seamlessly. This proposal is to give
you with an overview of essential elements and procedures to initiate the
process.

Proposal Information

Description

TokenAuctionHouse project aims to address the lack of a dedicated platform for NEO-based NFT transactions and community engagement. Currently, enthusiasts and creators within the NEO ecosystem face challenges when attempting to buy, sell, or auction NFTs on a user-friendly and secure platform. Additionally, staying informed about the latest NEO-related news and community events can be fragmented. This project seeks to provide a consolidated solution by creating a user centric NFT marketplace and auction house where users can mint, buy, auction off their NFTs, and community meetup features.

Goals

TokenAuctionHouse project contributes significantly to the Neo ecosystem in several ways:

Fostering NFT Adoption: By offering a dedicated platform for NFT transactions,
the project stimulates the adoption of NFTs within the Neo blockchain. It
provides a convenient space for artists, collectors, and traders to engage with
NFT assets, boosting the Neo NFT ecosystem's growth.

Enhancing User Engagement: The integrated news
aggregator keeps users updated about the Neo ecosystem, NFT trends, and related
developments. This knowledge-sharing approach enhances user engagement, drives
interest, and strengthens the overall Neo community.

Community Empowerment: The platform's community meetup integration
provides a comprehensive listing of local and global Neo-related events. This
empowers community members to connect, collaborate, and participate actively in
meetups, workshops, and conferences, fostering a stronger sense of community.

Improving Accessibility: TokenAuctionHouse offers an accessible platform
for creators and collectors to list, discover, and trade NFTs seamlessly. This
accessibility encourages participation from both experienced blockchain users
and newcomers.

Neo Ecosystem Growth: By building an innovative NFT marketplace, the
project contributes to the broader Neo ecosystem's expansion. The platform
becomes a central hub for NFT activity, driving interest and attracting new
participants to the Neo blockchain.

User-Centric Experience: The user-friendly interface prioritizes user
experience, making it easier for individuals to navigate and interact with
NFTs. This positive experience encourages repeat usage and attracts a broader
user base.

Deliverables Verifiability

Milestone 1 (First 30-Day Sprint):

-Design and Build TokenAuctionHouse's UI:

  • Verification by the Community: The community can verify the successful completion of this milestone by accessing the TokenAuctionHouse platform and evaluating the user interface. They can navigate through the platform, explore its features, and assess the visual design, layout, and user-friendliness. Any previews, screenshots, or walkthrough videos shared by the project team can also be compared against the actual platform to validate the UI design.

  • Set Up Hosting Infrastructure:

  • Verification by the Community:** The community can verify the hosting infrastructure setup by checking the platform's availability, uptime, and response time. They can access the platform from different devices and locations to ensure consistent access. Additionally, the project team can provide details about the hosting service provider, server specifications, and uptime monitoring tools to establish transparency and credibility.

Milestone 2 (Half-Way Point):

  • Develop Backend Functionality for Storing NFTs:

  • Verification by the Community: The community can verify this milestone by interacting with the platform and performing actions related to storing NFTs. Users can create accounts, list NFTs for auction, and view their listed items. Successful completion can be confirmed by checking that these actions function smoothly, NFT metadata is correctly stored, and bid/ask functionalities work as intended.

  • Bug Fixing and Testing:

  • Verification by the Community: The project team can publish a list of identified bugs and issues along with updates indicating their resolution. The community can then test the platform's features and confirm that the reported issues have been addressed. The project team can share stress testing results, indicating the number of concurrent users the platform can handle without significant performance degradation. Transparency about security measures, such as encryption protocols and vulnerability assessments, can also provide assurance.

Milestone 3 (Final Deliverable):

  • Develop a Marketing Strategy:

  • Verification by the Community: The community can observe the implementation of the marketing strategy through various channels, such as social media, newsletters, and partnerships. Engagement metrics, such as user interactions, website traffic, and community growth, can be shared to demonstrate the impact of the marketing efforts. Regular updates on marketing activities can maintain community trust.

  • Establish Partnerships and Cultivate Community Engagement:

  • Verification by the Community: The project team can provide information about established partnerships, collaborations, and community engagement events. Community members can verify these claims by attending events, webinars, or workshops hosted in collaboration with partners. The project team can share documentation, event summaries, and participation data as evidence of successful partnership building.

  • Execute Targeted Marketing within the Neo Community:

  • Verification by the Community: The community can assess the impact of targeted marketing efforts by analyzing user engagement metrics specific to the Neo community. This could include metrics like the number of new users from the Neo community, increased participation in Neo-related discussions, and positive sentiment expressed by community members regarding the TokenAuctionHouse platform.

Overall, the community's ability to verify the successful achievement of each milestone relies on open communication, transparency, and providing access to relevant information, interfaces, and events. The project team should proactively share updates, results, and metrics to establish credibility and maintain community trust throughout the project's development and execution phases.

Hello to the TokenAuctionHouse team and thanks for taking the time to submit this proposal. To start the conversation off, I'm curious as the why the team chose the Neo blockchain to build on top of? Are you also applying for grants to other blockchain ecosystems? Will TAH be cross-chain?

The proposal mentions that Neo has a "lack of a dedicated platform for NEO-based NFT transactions and community engagement." In which ways do you believe that TAH will provide services that GhostMarket, Mega Oasis, or SkyHut aren't delivering?

Will the platform leverage the NeoFS distributed storage network for image hosting? If this solution doesn't use NeoFS, I think it will have a hard time garnering support from other voting members.

Regarding the integrated news aggregator, what sources of news will you be sharing on the platform? Will they be protocol-agnostic, or Neo-centric? What are the news sources you plan on sharing with TAH users?

This iteration of TAH seems like it will be the first NFT marketplace the team has built. How can the GrantShares voting members be confident that the team will be able to deliver? I tried to go to the website and was met with a 403 error.

Overall, I'm most interested in hearing what interests TAH about Neo and why the team is here for the long-term success of this blockchain. Thanks and looking forward to your responses!

TokenAuctionHouse Proposal Review

Hello to the TokenAuctionHouse team and thanks for taking the time to submit this proposal. To start the conversation off, I'm curious about why the team chose the Neo blockchain to build on top of. Are you also applying for grants to other blockchain ecosystems? Will TAH be cross-chain?

We have been building on various chains for a while now, and as we delve deeper, we get more and more interested in blockchain technology. We love NEO and are looking at building several projects on NEO. TAH will be cross-chain as we want to support as many chains as possible.

The proposal mentions that Neo lacks a dedicated platform for NEO-based NFT transactions and community engagement. In which ways do you believe that TAH will provide services that GhostMarket, Mega Oasis, or SkyHut aren't delivering?

TAH marketplace aims to complement offerings, by SkyHut, GhostMarket and Mega Oasis, on Neo by leveraging on community engagement and advanced analytics. TAH envisions a vibrant community hub with forums, allowing artists and collectors to connect with and collaborate. As we grow, TAH's analytics tools will provide data-driven insights for pricing and marketing decisions. Through these distinctive features, TAH aims to enhance the Neo NFT ecosystem by offering a comprehensive and user-centered marketplace experience.

Will the platform leverage the NeoFS distributed storage network for image hosting? If this solution doesn't use NeoFS, I think it will have a hard time garnering support from other voting members.

Yes, we will use NeoFS for image storage. We also have a ticketing system for a VR streaming platform which would work well with NeoFS. JoiniFeel is our other project.

Regarding the integrated news aggregator, what sources of news will you be sharing on the platform? Will they be protocol-agnostic, or Neo-centric? What are the news sources you plan on sharing with TAH users?

We plan on creating something that allows users to choose the chain they want to read news about, although we are going to focus on NEO to get us started.

This iteration of TAH seems like it will be the first NFT marketplace the team has built. How can the GrantShares voting members be confident that the team will be able to deliver? I tried to go to the website and was met with a 403 error.

We have set milestones in place already and have plans to keep voting members informed on our progress via a WordPress blog we will set up. This should allow all parties interested in TAH to follow the progress.

Here comes the pessimistic voice: I have little hope that a new NFT marketplace will be of much value for the Neo community and the crypto community as a whole. Even if you can improve some aspects, getting the attention away from established marketplaces will be very hard.

I have to agree with @csmuller. Neo already has various NFT marketplaces so I think putting funding towards another would be kind of redundant. In your project description you state :

"TokenAuctionHouse project aims to address the lack of a dedicated platform for NEO-based NFT transactions and community engagement. Currently, enthusiasts and creators within the NEO ecosystem face challenges when attempting to buy, sell, or auction NFTs on a user-friendly and secure platform"

I don't believe there is a lack of a dedicated platform for Neo-based NFT transactions. Although GhostMarket is multichain, it's definitely the central hub for the Neo community IMO. We also have MegaOasis which you could say is "exclusive" to the Neo blockchain. I also don't believe enthusiasts and creators in the Neo ecosystem face any challenges when buying, selling or auctioning NFTs. Anyone that's been in the ecosystem for a while knows how solid, secure, and user friendly GhostMarket is. Vincent (the lead dev/founder of GM) has been consistently been taking the platform to the next level for YEARS now.

Not trying to be pessimistic either but I think you should do a bit more research before you make statements saying we face challenges when dealing with NFTS (buying/selling etc) when that's certainly not the case.

Just my two cents :)
