The last of the rapid-fire beta releases, this will be the last beta release before the full-pledged release around September 20th. With this, SCL will have hit it's 100-topic milestone! Thanks for all your support.

This beta branch may be more bug-filled than usual as it attempts to introduce a new mechanic, so I would especially advise to be prepared.

Please only download if you're aware this is a beta release.

This update should not outright break anything if you decide to downgrade, but in either case as the most technical update yet I would heavily recommend making backups of your saves.

I encourage you to send a report if you do encounter issues of this nature or drop a mention in MAS's official discord server in their submod channel; SCL has a dedicated topic there.

Please download the attached file labelled 'MoSCL' and unzip into your submod folder like any regular zip file. Do not download the source code.

(A Milestone of Self-Care & Literature)

• Achievements! Monika will humbly note down if you've done anything of recognition in a notebook she has to encourage investing your time such as exploring the more randomized topics SCL has. You'll also gain achievements by playing enough games of Chess and Nou! Right now, the achievement menu is as barebones and basic as can be, but it lays the groundwork for future content as well. All you need to do to unlock the achievement system is reach the affectionate tier.
• 6 new topics (4 of which are connected to the Achievement system) and 1 new intro
• Also Monika talks about the 'Bongcloud.' No, really.

• 19 new topics, most of which are centered around expanding upon anniversary events! To unlock a majority of these, you will have to have seen the original anniversary events (so you'll have to visited Monika on your 1 week anniversary and triggered the dialogue, for instance.)
• and three new window reacts. They're not much, but, well. They're interesting reactions.

With MAS's code overhaul being pushed back, I've opted to consider releasing updates at my own pace instead of waiting until the code overhaul. We'll see.

(Tales of Self-Care & Literature)

• Talk about fun topics like best friends, narrators in literature, the futility of trying to be a good person in a world where any sort of good deed will never yield any tangible reward or even be meaningful in the long run so what does it all matter, morse code...
• Monika can now ask for new types of coffee. At this time you cannot actually gift her custom coffee; it's just writing meant to pair with existing MAS content (like asking her if she's running out of coffee or hot chocolate and to fit in with an existing line where Monika randomly comments you've given her a new flavor whenever you do give her a refill.)
• SCL now has a 'intro' of sorts, designed to show an hour and a half after a fresh MAS install or asap past that point. It's written to take into account you already playing SCL & MAS for some time. Might I suggest you check your characters folder after seeing it?
• Monika can speak in rainbow
• 16 new topics, 2 intros, and 9 farewells added
• "Ask the time" topic has been modified to get across that "Could you tell me the time?" may not be available until later boot-ups
• Override label for "Favourite Word" topic as was not unlockable in base SCL
• Various typos/missing 'm' sprite indicators added back in
• All topics can now be bookmarked/de-randomized at will (Thanks to DaleRuneMTS for bringing this up)

While I'm all for light-hearted patch notes going to keep it simple and straightforward:

Further adjustments have been made to ensure you can unlock/run the 'Surprise Her' topic one way or another after looking into the issue further; the circumstances behind this have been noted to avoid in the future.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

• 'Surprise Her' event code fixed again to accommodate wrong event reference/overrides old event
• new topic 'Unsurprising' to unlock 'Surprise Her' to keep with SCL's 'unlock one topic, unlock the other' format
• If you are still getting issues, you can run 'Unsurprising' again to choose to push 'Surprise Her' as a topic, and you can keep trying until it'll unlock properly. Current repeatable SCL unlock events will have a backdoor like this incorporated/future events as well as a precaution.

• For those who are a little more playful, you can flirt with Monika or ask her the time immediately upon opening the game; she'll make a comment on you choosing those options right away.
