I need face masks – what should I do?

Brno is currently lacking disposable face masks for nursing homes and social workers in the field. Until the supplies resume, we will sew, collect, disinfect, pack and distribute masks, where it is needed the most. If you are a field worker, social worker or work in the health services and you need a mask, contact us.

It is not in our capabilities to sew for individuals; the priority is given to the organisations that care for the people at risk. Thank you for your understanding.

Live: Our infoline is available daily 8-16 at (+420) 542 123 425.

Live: Do you want to sew, but lack the material? We will deliver it to you, please let us know.

How to use and handle the masks?

  • Attention, do not "sterilise" the masks in the microwave as they might start to burn!

I'm here to help, what should I do?

How should the mask look like?

  • The fabric and cords have to be 100% cotton, so we can disinfect and reuse them.
  • You can sew a DIY mask e.g. following these instructions.
  • There is no need to shrink the fabric in advance and the threads can also be polyester.

Help us directly in our sewing workshop!

There are sewing machines, materials and teachers available daily from 8-16 in Husa na provázku theatre at Zelný trh 9 and in Podaná kavárna café at Hilleho 5. We work in 4 shifts of 20 volunteers and each shift takes 3 hours. Come and help us!

I want to donate fabrics and cords

Bring what you have to the gate of the Husa na Provázku theatre. Please, make sure the fabrics are washed and ironed.

I want to sew at home, please bring me the material

Contact us, we will deliver the material. For each 5 masks sewn, you can take 1 for your use.

I have the masks, where should I bring them?

We will come for them, so that you don't have to leave the house. Please, let us know, and we will contact you.

I want to help, but I can't sew.
