Principia version
2024.02.29 Windows and Android

OS / Hardware
Platform: PC, mobile
Operating system: Windows, Android

Summary

  • Connection Edit
More often than not, the joints become unclickable in Connection Edit. The only workaround I found is to restart Principia and hope that the clicks are registered this time. Also, when clicking elsewhere than a joint icon, a strength slider appears for no reason. The Connection Edit icons also often have a significant offset from the click/touch point, making it harder to select them. The Connection Edit icons should also scale automatically when zoomed to improve accessibility.

  • Multi-Select (more of an improvement proposal)
The maximum settable strength (other than unbreakable) is very low. To allow a more wider variety of destructible structures, like bridges that can withstand heavy loads while still being breakable, the strength multiplier could be set higher.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Build a structure with multiple objects and connections
  2. Use Connection Edit and try to select a joint by clicking an icon, and try to adjust the strength. Also when in Connection Edit, click on the background to see a strength slider that has no purpose.
  3. Use Multi-Select to adjust the strength of a semi-long bridge and apply a bit of load on it. The bridge should be able to withstand way more than it currently does.
