Dear DREAM3D Users,
This version has pipeline breaking changes that were necessary. The user interface should suggest the needed changes to your pipelines. These changes will also break any python code that has been developed up to this point. If you need assistance updating your python codes, please reach out to the BlueQuartz Software team for assistance. While we regret the breaking change, this was ultimately necessary in order to present a consistent API to our python developers. This will hopefully be the last major breaking change before release later this year.
With this version of the Python bindings, users can not much more easily extend DREAM3D with their own filters written in Python, automate DREAM3D-NX pipelines through python or even use DREAM3D-NX as a “poor mans” GUI to wrap existing python codes that you would like to distribute more easily to your colleagues. In the coming weeks we will be posting a few tutorials to get you started.
The current python binding instructions can be viewed at https://www.dream3d.io/python_docs/
