Option to suppress the warning about parameter units

Parameter units are expected in parameter files. It would be good to provide an option to suppress the warning when no units are used (sometimes -- maybe often, people are confident of their units and don't add them to their parameter files). A suppress_warnings could be a more general keyword that gets passed around to suppress such "best practice" warnings.
