Current experience:
The map on SimpleReport.gov incorrectly shows Maine as "Unavailable," which is causing confusion for potential users in Maine who are being directed to the site. This misrepresentation directly impacts adoption and use of SimpleReport within the state.
Why we want to make this change:
Correcting the map to accurately reflect that SimpleReport is available in Maine will ensure that healthcare providers located in Maine who have been directed to the website are not dissuaded from using the platform. This will directly support our outreach efforts in the state and increase user adoption. It also maintains the integrity of the data displayed on the website and reinforces trust in the platform.
User story
As someone who has been directed to the SimpleReport.gov website from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, I want the SimpleReport.gov website to accurately reflect that SimpleReport is available in Maine so that I can confidently proceed with registration and use of the platform.
Action Requested
Update the map on the SimpleReport.gov website to display Maine in the "Available" color (dark blue).
Acceptance Criteria
The map appearing on the SimpleReport.gov website displays the state of Maine in the "Available" color (dark blue).
Additional Context
This request is related to an email from Scott Snow, ELR Coordinator for the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, sent to Glenn Grieves on ReportStream on Thursday, May 20th:
We just noticed that the US map on the SimpleReport website shows Maine as "Unavailable". We’re sending people to that web page to sign up and there might be confusion if they notice that Maine is greyed out as “Unavailable”. Can this be updated, please?
