No idea why it wasn't working. created new automation step by step and it worked at the end. User error I guess. |

I'm trying to create an automation that will send me a phone notification if the car is plugged in but I haven't set how much charge I want to give, or if I set how much charge, but the car is not plugged in.
When I attempt to use the ..._plug_status entity in the automation, it only gives my the value options "Unavailable" or "Unknown" in the pull down list. However the value "EV Connected" etc is shown on the dashboard fine. If I just type "EV Connected" into the automation it accepts it but doesn't work.
What am I missing?
