ClamAV 1.5 LTS

Hello,

When is the release date of ClamAV version 1.5 LTS? It was said last year that it will be released at the end of the year but I cannot see any details in ClamAV documentation.

SUSE support mentioned they will use ClamAV 1.5 LTS for their SUSE Manager once it becomes available.

Is there anyone who can provide the release date, please?

Unfortunately, we are behind schedule for the 1.5 LTS version. I'm sorry for the delay and the confusion. 2024 was tough for our team.

1.5 LTS does not have a formal release date, though we are close to publishing the 1.5 beta for maintainer review and comment. We always offer a beta or release candidate prior to stable release because platforms used within the community are broad and varied.

Right now, it is critical to us that we fix a compatibility issue with RedHat 9 support with the 1.5 version. That has been a key focus.

We will make a formal announcement on the mailing list and socials about LTS next week.

With deliberation, we've decided to formalize ClamAV 1.4 as the latest LTS version. This seems like a better choice than asking users to continue waiting for 1.5.

We just published the formal announcement.

We're hoping to start the 1.5 beta very soon, but do not know for certain when it will be ready for stable release.
