Optogenetic stimulation is a square pulse of duration that can be set via the notebook. To completely check whether this works, need to record the optogenetic input and plot it.

The optogenetic inputs can be recorded now using 'record_variables' parameter. In order to check if the optogenetic input is applied correctly, the input related dataframe can be extracted with the function extract_recorded_variables. One such example is shown in the notebook.
