I've tried replicating this bug in a new document with a-z, and " w" seems to be the culprit.

In the example below, I've duplicated the lower group and started to rename it. I can no longer name any groups with additional words that start with "w" without undoing and trying a workaround.

Great find. This was such a bizarre one :P
I was able to replicate it; and I think it's now fixed in the next version.

So funny, I was just about to report this same bug. But for me, any "w" at the end of a layer name will trigger the bug.

Another correction for this issue.... ANY "w" in a layer or artboard name will trigger this bug.

Any word on the next release date?

It also occurs when updating symbol override text. My workaround for a couple of months has been to type anything that contains a 'w' into a text editor and paste into Sketch. Looking forward to the next update.
