Code of Conduct for Daemawiki

We want Daemawiki to be a welcoming and respectful community for everyone. By participating in this project, you are expected to follow this Code of Conduct to ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all contributors.

1. Be Respectful

Treat everyone with respect. Be mindful that contributors come from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Disagreements and differences of opinion are natural, but always engage in discussions constructively.

  • Avoid personal attacks, insults, or offensive language.
  • Appreciate the value of diverse opinions and collaborate with an open mind.
  • Use appropriate tone and language in discussions, issues, and pull requests.

2. Be Inclusive

We encourage contributions from individuals of all backgrounds, and we welcome everyone to participate, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or experience level.

  • Be mindful of your language and avoid exclusionary terminology.
  • Offer help to newcomers and ensure that everyone feels welcomed.
  • Be proactive in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for people of all identities.

3. Be Constructive

If you disagree with a suggestion or a pull request, provide clear and constructive feedback. Offer solutions, suggestions, and alternative approaches, rather than just criticism.

  • Focus on the issue at hand and avoid making it personal.
  • If providing feedback, focus on the code, documentation, or contributions rather than the contributor.
  • Encourage solutions and discussions that move the project forward.

4. No Harassment

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to: offensive comments about gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or other personal attributes.

  • If you experience or witness harassment, report it to the maintainers immediately.
  • Maintain a respectful and supportive environment where everyone can contribute freely without fear of harassment.

5. Be Honest and Transparent

Always act with honesty and integrity. Credit others where it is due, and be transparent in your communications.

  • If you make a mistake or need to take back something said, do so respectfully and promptly.
  • Give credit to others for their ideas, work, and contributions.
  • Avoid any form of dishonesty, including plagiarism.

6. Foster a Positive Environment

Keep the conversation positive and productive. Strive to create an environment where contributors feel comfortable to share ideas and collaborate openly.

  • Acknowledge and thank others for their contributions.
  • Avoid negative or inflammatory comments that may discourage participation.

7. Enforce the Code of Conduct

We are all responsible for upholding this Code of Conduct. If you see behavior that violates these principles, take action by reporting it to the project maintainers.

  • Reach out privately to the person involved if you feel comfortable.
  • If you need assistance, contact the maintainers or report the issue through the appropriate channels.

8. Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the maintainers as soon as possible. All reports will be treated seriously and confidentially.

  • You can contact the project maintainers directly through the issue tracker or via email.
  • Reports will be reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken.

Conclusion

By contributing to this project, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. Let's work together to build a positive community for Daemawiki and beyond!
