@JustARandomFrozenPotato

i was looking around in the files that were in the mas addions submod folder, and i saw MASM.exe and i thought, maybe if i open that, i can finally get this to work! so i tried to open it, but it said "this app can't run on your pc" "check with the software publisher to find a version for your pc" and I'm worried that this mod cannot work on my pc, it wouldn't surprise me too much since my pc cant even run minecraft, but i would be very disappointed. i know that a 32-bit OS and 8gb of ram is pretty crappy, but does the submod just not work on my pc or am i doing something wrong? and whenever i try to ask her how i look, she says ok, then tells me that i need to give her access to my webcam, i can do that in the submods folder unless i want her to do it, and if i tell her to do it, she says "ok, i can access your webcam now! do you want to try again?" i say yes, and then she says she cant access it again, i don't know what she expects me to do in the submods folder, so maybe it just doesn't work because i haven't done that, but i really want her to be able to see me, so could i have some instructions on what to do to fix it? and if the submod doesn't work on my pc, then can i at least have some instructions on how to safely remove it please?

Unfortunately 32-bit OS'es aren't supported by this submod, I should've clarified that better, my apologies!

You're the first person here to try this submod with 32-bit OS in fact, making a special 32-bit version of the submod for you shouldn't be too difficult, however this submod is quite buggy and with a lot of issues so that might just cause more troubles 😅

The submod lives in game/Submods/MAS Additions/, meaning you just need to remove the folder MAS Additions and it'll be gone!

Sorry that you had to deal with these issues, I hope that someday MAS gets updated to use newer Ren'Py with Python 3 support so this mod can be rewritten (or another one made by someone else), allowing you and Monika to get closer to each other!

ok, ive deleted the folder, if your sure that a 32-bit version wouldn't be too hard then it would be awesome to have! and im not too worried about it causing more problems as long as i can easily remove it afterwards, though i would recommend that if you do make a 32-bit version, that you release it to the public and not just give it to me, that way anyone else on a 32-bit OS can also get it (also sorry for taking so long to reply im new to github, and it never notified me to say you responded, so i didnt know you had) also does this issue qualify as closed now?

Let's keep the issue open until I have provided x86 (32-bit) builds 🙂

Sorry for the delay, I've had to deal with various things past few weeks, gonna work on this today.
I'll let you know when new release is ready!

I made a new release just now with both x64 and x86 binaries available for Windows 🙂

https://github.com/DatCaptainHorse/MAS-Additions/releases/tag/1.0-pre7

I'll keep this issue open until you can try it, if there are no issues, you may close this!

this time i think im just doing something wrong, but i dont know anymore, its working better than the last one, but she still cant see me. and just to be clear, i know my laptop has a webcam, but i dont think the game realises that. i also just realised that i can attach videos, so i hope this attached correctly

what_does_it_mean__status__not_alive__and__invalid_state__.mp4

make sure to tell me if the video doesnt send and i can just describe the issue

Weird, looks like MAS wasn't able to open socket to connect to MASM (which controls FDAR and such..)

Do you have some internet blocker application perhaps? Or something that might block applications from using port 24488?

i dont think so? i have a few anti-viruses and i remember when i gave the mod admin so the camera wouldn't get blocked, and when i did, it said "windows protected your pc" and i had to tell it to give admin again, so maybe my anti viruses are blocking it? other than that though, i dont think i do

You shouldn't need to give MASM or MAS administrator rights for this Submod.

Could you tell me what AV's you use? Also, can you run MASM.exe directly at all?

this is the first time ive gotten it to actually open without it opening for a second and then immediately crashing, so thats a start i guess.

i_dont_understand_any_of_this.1.mp4

also im not sure what you mean by AV? google says that means audio-video but that doesnt make me understand the question

Thanks for taking videos of logs and all, it helps a bunch here!

I've never encountered those warnings, however they point to having an ARM processor instead of classic x86, which would explain a lot, if that is the case.

I should've asked earlier, but what model is your computer?
Also, I meant Anti-Virus with AV.

my antivirus's are just window defender, and hitman pro, but hitman pro didnt seem to care about the mod, also heres the device stuff you asked for

(hope that image pasted correctly)

Ooh yep, that's an ARM processor powered computer for sure! You're living on the edge, Python doesn't even support Windows on ARM yet!

Issue here is, things made for the x86 architecture are incompatible with ARM for the most part. Windows translates x86 program instructions at runtime to be ARM-compatible, but it's not necessarily without issues (also the speed impact is big).

However.. there are some good news!

Python 3.11 with ARM support will be released in 10 days from now on (24th), after that the popular packages should start updating to support Windows on ARM as well. Meaning this submod will support ARM processors.

Ren'Py 8 upgrade is in progress for MAS, Ren'Py 8 provides Linux ARM support, thus I feel Windows on ARM support wouldn't be out of the question once more Ren'Py updates roll out.

So for now, you have to wait before things start supporting your device properly, sorry!
I'll let you know when I get ARM versions out, if you stay interested until then!

well, thats good to know. i will definitely stay interested, and im assuming that means you'll need to make yet another version for ARM? if so should i delete the submod again?

@DatCaptainHorse

Yes you are correct, it's best to delete the installed submod.

i apologies for bothering you, especially if it isnt done, but you said 19 days ago that the update would come out in ten days, im sure a new version takes a while to make and im so sorry if i sound impatient, im just worried you may have forgotten about it so im reminding you

@DatCaptainHorse

Heyo! I haven't forgotten!

I'm waiting for the Python packages used by this submod to be updated to be Windows on ARM compatible.

Python 3.11 itself has been released, but the packages may take month or 2 at worst, since Windows on ARM devices aren't that common in developer space yet.

Stay patient, I'll let you know when things are ready!

ok then, glad you didnt forget, i can keep waiting. thank you for being willing to do this!
