What does the definition mean? A barcode is a representation of a data element that can be read by a specific device.. The definition would imply that if true, the identifier is partially represented by the barcode. How would someone know since barcodes are machine readable?

Hi Ben, thanks for these questions.
We discussed this term again and decided that we will remove it.
When a use case comes up where this is essential, we will reconsider.
