Give ability to answer questions the game asks

Example:

If you type in kill troll, then the game would appropriately ask Kill troll with what?. However, if you would type in a response, such as sword, it would respond to you with I do not understand 'sword'..

Solution:

e.g.
You: kill troll
Game: Kill troll with what?
You: [Kill troll with...] sword
Game: Troll's health is now at 60%.

The game would automatically give you a chance to give one word answers by auto-prefacing your command prompt with something like [Kill troll with ...]. Hitting esc or enter without entering anything would kick you back to an empty prompt.
