Upgrade Rails to latest and gems to latest versions.

  • Update to ruby 2.5+
  • Update rails main files
  • Update scopes
  • Remove :conditions
  • Remove link_to_function
  • Update gems.
  • Handle params Rails 5 way
  • Migrate from broken gems
  • Migrate from capistrano to docker and docker-compose
  • Use mariadb
  • Get rid of flash
  • Update docs
  • Fix files and directories.
  • Fix broken tests
  • Make sure the files and directories are not deleted on recreate.

Roadmap to upgrade gathers to latest rails:

Maybe write a small rails update report.
