These are domain (scientific field) specific metadata extensions. The attributes, their display values and descriptions are documented by the source code of the mapping files below. In the MARC XML serialisation all these extensions are implemented in the '^()' field as specified above. Each '690' element inclueds 2 elements a

that we use for the key:value pair of attibute:value
