I had spent some time learning how to use block-bench in the hope that I could easily back-port 3D models from later versions of Minecraft and use them to replace the 3D models in the Mo' Creatures Extended mod. After several hours of failed tests and some discussion on the 1.12.2 Modding Coalition Discord server, I've learned that 3D entity models added by mods are hard-coded and thus cannot easily be modified using Blockbench, .jem files, or resource packs.
Since I'm not willing to spend several months trying to reverse-engineer the code of the Mo' Creatures mod, I'm wondering if I can commission an optional resource pack to include with Mo' Creatures Extended that replaces the default models of bears, goats, and foxes with vanilla models from later versions of Minecraft. At the moment, I'm not certain how much commission money this would require or if you would even be willing to add it for free. I still need to wait to get my tax return back.
P.S: I was also hoping to do the same thing with the frog model added by the Quark mod for 1.12.2, but the developer of that mod refuses to do any updates whatsoever for this version of the mod--including resource packs-- and has cut all contacts with me.
