Situations were 'stuck' processes were seen:

ResponderUpdatedEventMesageListener optimistic lock exception -> process instance waits on signal
Issues with timers: timer job doesn't fire, process gets stuck in timer

Note that with commit cdfd794 the issues with the OptimisticLockExceptions and timers are solved
