Memory allocation

We have recently installed the alma print demon (as a service) and are considering replacing our previous solution with it. We have noticed that after the Alma API calls and printouts have been made, it does not release the memory used, i.e. the memory used is constantly growing.
Have we overlooked a configuration or is this a known problem?
