User Testing: 10-05-2019 #2

User 1 - Tested A Name is really cute. Can't click on the baby. Couldn't click on museum. Was surprised that I can't move the map. It's just this part of the map. When I click on the Pret, it's gender neutral which is nice, but it's NOT! WHAT? It doesn't have baby change. Why did it appear when I clicked I need baby change? Honest feedback: Do you have any questions for me? |
User 2 Went to google maps and saved toilet as a favourite. Couldn't navigate back to the home screen - tried to use back. Ended on the add toilet, not edit toilet page. Difficult to find edit toilet page. Struggling to find information about toilet from the toilet list page. Liked the minimal design. Very straightforward, either add or find a toilet. Thinks far fewer people would add a toilet than find a toilet, so should not be given the same weight in the user journey. Editing was not very obvious. Liked that it took her to Google Maps, as this is how she would navigate anyway. Map instead of list would be much more useful. Or in Google Maps when you get a list of places, you see how far they are from your location. This (list) interface should remind me of the filters that I have already selected. For example the baby-changing icon could be visible. Google Maps, Citymapper. Clicking the logo to go back is something more that mobile applications use than desktop, so it may not be intuitive on a desktop. |
User 3 Finds it difficult to navigate to the information page to edit the toilet. Did not know how to edit the toilet. Simple, but not straightforward to change the toilets. Would not add any features. Would prefer a map to a list of toilets. Does not tell you how nearby the toilets are. When you are looking for toilets, you don't know where you are. |
Users 4 and 5: When trying to find out more information about the toilet, found it difficult and went back. Once on information page it was easy to edit the page. Also found it intuitive to use the main page icon and add a new toilet. Detail was hard to access. Perhaps number of toilets would be useful. Whether toilets were in or out of service. Perhaps list of toilets with distance away from me. Citymapper has both a map and a list underneath, this would be useful. |
User 6 Couldn't find icon path to home screen. |
User 7 Easily selected the filters from the icons. understood each icon. DId not find extra menu for additional. |

My name is Joko, I’m a developer on the application, the application we're working on is a tool to help you find the nearest public toilet when you're out and about in London.
Thank for helping us today. Just so you know, my colleague will be observing the session today from over there. They're viewing the screen on our testing device and can hear your voice, so won't be a distraction.
Does that sound like something you'd be willing to try out?
I’d like to show you the prototype first. It's not fully complete yet, but I’m going to give you a few tasks to do from the our home page. It's a very free exercise so there are no right or wrong ways of doing things, this is not about you getting something wrong or right, we're looking to learn about the application. So that we know how you're finding it, we want you to talk aloud and tell us whatever you're thinking. And don't be worried about being offensive or repetitive, we're looking for honest feedback. So tell us anything that comes into your mind.
You're going to be testing version A/B.
The first task I’d like you to do is find a free toilet at a museum with baby changing facilities, whenever you're ready, please begin.
Thank you, the next task I'd like you to do is __________. (repeat for remaining tasks).
?! Okay, if you were trying to get back to the main page, what would you do?
How did you find using the application? Are there any features you thought were unnecessary or missing? Did anything stick out for you that you’d like to share?
May I ask you a few additional questions about yourself?
The session is now complete, I’d like to thank you for the help you’ve given us to improve our application.
