Name: Sam

How I get my best work done:

For actually getting coding done, it's usually on my own with coffee and many snacks. For coming up with insane ideas, other people to bounce things off!

The role I usually take in a team:

Depends actually. If I feel like I know what I'm talking about I can take quite a leadership role, but if I'm even a little bit unsure I'll stay quiet and let other people lead.

My communication style:

Usually self-deprecating... I like to compare things to other things I/someone I'm talking to might understand better, e.g. "Git is just like Google docs but for code".

What I value:

GIFs of bunnies.

Patience and understanding. Interesting stories?

What people misunderstand about me:

Sometimes my brain runs off in one direction and it is very hard to stop - and hard to listen. Sometimes I'll have no idea someone has spoken to me or no memory of what they just said - I'm honestly not ignoring you 😞. If I'm off on a chain of thought it can be very difficult to drag me out of it. Try to distract me with the suggestion of a cup of tea if I get in too deep.

How I like to get my feedback:

Reluctantly. I will cling to the code I've written, slowly getting more grumpy until I suddenly realise you're probably right and change it. Try phrasing feedback in a positive way and ty not to make me let go of all my code at once.
