This issue follows an email conversation with @eox-cs1, and it is made to keep track of this problem.
Me and my data scientist are currently working on the UC5 analyses and data processing using R. For him, R is the preferred language while for me it has more packages to download data from GBIF.
However, I still want to make such scripts available in JupyterLab (EOXHUB), as we are both using RStudio.
When I tried to run two initial scripts in JupyterLab, by creating first the R environment in the terminal, I got the error 'permission denied' which should be related to the packages used in my R scripts.
How can this be solved?
@eox-cs1, in your last email you said that you cannot provide a new setup for the inclusion of 'R' in the FAIRiCUBE Hub. But it should be possible to install and run 'R' locally in our account.
I installed R for the UC5 account, but it still couldn't work.
If we manage to find a solution, @KathiSchleidt I was thinking to write something about running R scripts in JupyterLab using Python as material for the Knowledge Base. It could be done together with @sonjastndl, as we discussed already.
