It was mentioned in the index that we can convert the class of the article into one-hot vector. Must i follow this rule or just use a convenient method for training and prediction.

You actually have a lot of freedom yo finish the assignment, as long as you know what you are doing and meet the requirements then you could do anything you want

Also please state clear what you did and how it is different from the description, then it is totally fine.
