In what way? Change password of the proxmox user or of the guest VM?

I think it would be the guest VM’s password.

The service interface has a “change support” field as we added it for shared web hosting adapters. It does nothing for now.

This could be an interesting one to solve. In theory - it is trivial for anything set up using cloud-init. Other cases may pose more difficulties and require more than what the API is able to do.

There are several ways to do that -

For LXC Containers it's easy to do, even via API.

For QEMU VMs via Cloud-init would maybe be a possibility, but it can be done using the Qemu-Agent, if a. it's enabled and b. it's configured to accept commands.

This creates security issues as it would de-facto allow the FB admin to run arbitrary code inside customers VMs.

Another possibility is just that the user does it themselves via the VNC console. (If & When we get that working)
