6VPE not working on FRR #16991

Description

I am using FRR as route reflector to do 6vpe with cisco devices.
I have enable address-family ipv6 /ipv4 vpn on FRR but when I activate address-family vpnv6 on the cisco devices, the BGP vpnv6 session does not come up on the FRR and the cisco. Does FRR really support 6vpe? What am I doing wrong?

Please provide the configurations, and the topology you use, because this (current) information is useless;
Provide every step to reproduce it;
Show the log (debug bgp updates, debug bgp neighbor, debug bgp nht).

Download the package and install it:

I am really grateful for the help. Kindly find below error highlighted if i run dpkg -i frr.deb.

Also, if i run show zebra , It shows I do not have v6 with v4 nexthop available. Any suggestions will help.

Most likely, because your kernel does not support it. Try disabling this check in /etc/frr/daemons.

Replace:

bgpd_options="   -A 127.0.0.1"

With:

bgpd_options="   -A 127.0.0.1 --v6-with-v4-nexthop"

I am still having the " v6 with v4 nexthop available" after bgpd_options=" -A 127.0.0.1 --v6-with-v4-nexthop" .
I am planning of using Ubuntu 22.04 instead. Can that help solve the problem ?

It's ok, but now you should be able to establish a session. I assume it wasn't working due to No local IPv6 address, and zebra does not support V6 routing with v4 nexthops, BGP routing for V6 will not work.
