So far we've focused mostly on lower fidelity analysis codes, but we will soon want to also interface higher fidelity codes such as 3D CFD and FEM. The geometric parameterization may have to be refined for this purpose. So someone should look into the possibilities to use already existing tools. I've looked a bit at GeoMACH (https://github.com/hwangjt/GeoMACH) and this looks really promising, but would probably need some adjustments to work for a wind turbine. Another road to take is to use 3D free form deformation, but I don't know of any openly available packages for this.
We should get a student to look at this.
