I'm trying to get voice working, but it doesn't work neither with my build nor with an AppImage from this repository.
When using hlsdk-portable Enable voice in this game is turned off by default, when I turn it and start/join server pressing voice key doesn't do anything and I don't see voice indicator like in this video: https://snmetamorph.github.io/assets/medias/voicechat-test-0a461c0c484ad0a271e99b0b86bf85d8.webm
When I use original Half-Life libraries I can see voice indicator from original Half-Life on my local server, but voice still doesn't seem to work on other servers.
Here's my xash3d.log
My system:

  • Operating System: Arch Linux
  • KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
  • KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
  • Qt Version: 6.8.2
  • Kernel Version: 6.13.2-2-cachyos (64-bit)
  • Graphics Platform: Wayland
  • Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor
  • Memory: 62.5 ГиБ of RAM
  • Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
  • Manufacturer: ASUS

As for now, hlsdk-portable does not uses VGUI by default. At the same time, voice status UI made with VGUI. For today, we do not have some fallback implementation of this UI element, but it is in progress: FWGS/hlsdk-portable#491

On the video, voice status UI was visible because I was running original Steam HL1 binaries. Of course, they are available only for x86.

Also, you can only have voice chat on Xash3D 49 servers.
