I was testing the mod on its highest difficulty and it really generated fear when fighting zombies with insane amounts of life and strength. I really enjoyed it as is, however I thought it was too dangerous at a certain point to keep such a high difficulty constantly.
This led me to think that it would be great if some sort of ritual was introduced (perhaps by collecting certain items or passing a series of tests or even fighting some boss) that would allow the difficulty to be reduced.
Solution
A percentage of success could be introduced when doing the ritual or facing some boss or test. In case of failing the test, or not succeeding in the percentage, that night, have the enraged attack of hostile mobs.
I think what I suggest might be a bit complex (Or maybe not, I don't know much about programming) but I think it would give a plus of immersion to the mod to have a feature like that.
