Progressive Web Apps & Install Site as an Apps comes to Floorp! The most easy way to install web app or site as an app!

This feature is only available on Windows

Progressive web app is a feature that makes install a site as an app.

You visit a site, if the site has web application manifest, Floorp show icon on URL bar. If click it. Then, Open popup.

The site will be installed as an app & Floorp will open the PWA window.

Installed site can be searched on Windows search feature.

Uninstall & Open PWA window, both are easy. Open menu panel & You can manage them on there.

New document icons available on Floorp!

PDF & Other document icons replaced by new icons. Icon’s visual designs are match with Floorp current icons. So beauty!!

• Split view is coming! Needless to open new window for seeing 2 pages!

Spilit View is available on Tab Context menu. You can enable on there. This feature is for displaying two web pages; some features may not work.

By request, new tabs can now be placed inside vertical tabs, as in the previous version of vertical tabs.

• Rest mode keyboard shortcuts are migrated to Custom shortcut key.

Rest mode setting is disabled at default. Please change Custom shortcut key setting. Browser Manager Sidebar toggle actions is still enabled.

• Floorp uses new localize from Crowdin!

Currently, Floorp community is too hot! They localize Floorp on Crowdin in too short time.

We decide to replace localize legacy localize with new Crowdin localize. Because of this, Floorp’s translations are available for 23 languages.

• The “Collapse Vertical Tab Bar” setting has been added again.

Users can use these preferences again!

• Some design changes have been made to the vertical tabs.

Redesigning the tabs to stick together should make them easier to use.

• Replaced sponsored shortcuts on new tabs with sponsored shortcuts on Floorp.

Floorp or any organization or company (or individual upon request) that has made a monthly donation of $100 or more to Ablaze on an ongoing basis will now be listed as a sponsor on a new tab.

In v11.5.0 we replaced the default shortcut, but now we will replace the ads.

• Problem solved where all buttons would be accidentally hidden when using vertical tabs and the search bar was placed in the navigation toolbox.

• When two or more keys that are pressed in combination with normal keys such as “Shift” and “Ctrl” are registered as custom shortcut key actions, the actions would not work. Resolved.

• Problem solved where vertical tabs would not be hidden in full-screen mode.

At First

For develop 3 years, We build a unique browser that called Floorp. But, In these days, Floorp is so big. Some of the users don’t like this.

For this reason, We build a new browser. It named “Floorp Lightning”.

The browser has included some specific features same as Floorp Browser. However, most of Floorp’s features are removed.

It’s so fast. No bug. No telemetry & Easy to use.

Coming soon. Beta version is so close.

About Translation

Currently, Oversea users are improving! The Floorp’s user share is splinted with Japanese user with other country users.

We learn about localization (L10n) at webDINO Japan (ex:Mozilla Japan) the community event. After that, We want to set up a server that name is “Pontoon”. “Pontoon” is a localization platform built by Mozilla. But, we got some issue. Instead of this, Our localization is hosted on Crowdin.

If you want to join Floorp’s L10N community, Please Jump to Floorp-Browser dashboard in Crowdin. Floorp’s localization is available for 20 languages that localized by Volunteer.

🌟 What’s new!

• Re-implemented Vertical tab is available! Try customizable native tab bar!

User can use verticaltab bar with Firefox’s sidebar & Browser Manager Sidebar. It means, Floorp gets new sidebar.

Now, a toolbar customize is applied to vertical tab!

• Floorp offers 32bit build on Windows.

This is experimental. Not Official version. This build will be stopped in 2025 (If Windows 10 is supported by Microsoft).

• At preferences page, Floorp shows Firefox’s version next to Floorp version.

• Now, user can change profile from toolbar! “Profile Manager” is coming!

“Profile Manager” is a button. You can add to toolbar from “Customize Floorp”. If you click the button. It will show “Firefox Account” manager & List of Floorp’s profiles. You can manage “Firefox Account” & Switch profile.

• Needless to open new window! “Private Container” helps you multitask!

Stating Floorp 11.4.0, on startup, Floorp will create a container named “Private”. This container does not save your information (Ex: Cookie, history and tab).

You can toggle current tab to private or no container from Tab context menu. More, Add link context menu to open with private container.

• Workspace Container added! You can manage workspace to use container!

On, Workspace manager, You can choose container for workspace. On a workspace, If you select “Personal” workspace container, the opening tab will be open with “Personal” Container.

Needless to say, If you select private container, after restart Floorp, the workspace will be destroyed.
