v0.5.3
v0.5.2
v0.5.0
Features
- Support for frequency lists have been added; you may import any frequency list in the format of a json array file, such as the files in the Migaku MEGA drive folder. More details on this will be addressed in a future blog post on https://freelanguagetools.org. Frequency rank is displayed on the main screen to help you decide whether or not you should add a note; the information is not exported to Anki.
- New button allows opening any custom website immediately to obtain more information about the current word. Available options include English Wiktionary, Wiktionary in the target language, Reverso Context, and Tatoeba. You may also specify any URL template where
@@@@
will be substituted for the word.
Other changes
- Pronunciation will now be played after definition is displayed on screen for faster lookups.
v0.4.1
Changes
- Japanese parsing has been removed. For the time being, there are much better tools for Japanese and maintaining the function adds too many dependencies.
Bugfixes
- Fix direct define when using json mode (previously it would not look up the same selected word)
- Remove focus-in detect for non-darwin (this behavior is a last resort, implemented only because clipboard change detection does not work on MacOS)
- Fix forvo audio playing ignoring setting
- Fix punctuation handling in json mode
- Fix de-accenting words for Russian
- Change counting statistics on the lower right corner to uniques
v0.4.0
Features
- PyMorphy2 is added back for better Russian accuracy
- Interface font scaling: for when your system default font size is too small to see from afar
- Horizontal interface: You can now tuck SSM below your widescreen movie. For a tutorial on using SSM for mining videos, check here
- Option to include Forvo pronunciation upon click (no API key required), with an additional option to export it to Anki as well
- Basic Japanese word splitting support
Bugfixes
- Will no longer save invalid Anki settings when AnkiConnect is not available
- Wiktionary will no longer return erroneous entries for words with multiple etymologies

v0.1.13
Browser extension support, auto-lookup single words

This allows one-click card creation. - You can now use this program as a dictionary too: If you copy just one word, it will look up the definition right away.
