It will be really useful if there is an utility to find unlinked pdfs in the folder. When syncing between multiple devices using cloud services like ondrive, it is quite common to have pdfs synced, but the library itself is not up to date. When opening paperlib on the other device, some pdfs become orphaned. Other reference managers like endnote or jabref have this function, and I hope paperlib can add this utility.

Hi, for those unlinked pdfs, do you still need them or you want to delete them?

In my case, the unlinked pdfs are still needed. It is OK to just find those unlinked pdfs and leave the decision to manually link or delete to users. Here is the same function in jabref

In paperlib, if you import a pdf file to the library, there must be an item in the library. If you delete this item, all related files will be deleted. It means that there is no useless files in the library folder.

I'm not sure why you need this feature. I think we will not implement this feature in the main application as we want to keep paperlib minimal. If you really need this feature, I would suggest implementing an extension to do that. https://paperlib.app/en/extension-doc/
