Show related documents when looking at a layer definitions

Question: Would it be possible to reproduce the related document functionality seen in the document display (i.e. related documents are shown in the accordion) but with the linkages between documents and layers?

Use Case: An atlas has a list of layers shown in the schema display (i.e. is referencing a document's nunaliit_layer array), and when a user clicks on the layer name, it brings up the layer definition with a list of "related" documents which essentially list which document have that layer in their nunaliit_layer array.
