I have an output like "you ave 1562 elements with a volume > 1e-6". It appears that 1562 is the number of triangles in the mesh. I think surface elements have to be ignored during this check.

Hello ! I use mesh doctor to check the volumes of my mesh, containing both tetra and triangles. it appears that using the command :
mesh-doctor --vtk-input-file blabla.vtu element_volumes --min 1e-6
