  • choose a static site generator - going with pelican
  • set up basic site functionality
    • basic blog via .md files
    • must have easy code inclusion/highlighting (prob via pygments)
    • access to the course materials

I think I've decided on pelican...its a bit more modular and mature...

@purcaro what do you mean by "need http"?

gotcha...also the docs page (http://docs.getpelican.com/en/3.5.0/) is much more insightful...

..so if anyone is following this...I'm switching to hugo...since their most resent release they handle static files (images, figures etc) in a more logical way, and they have dependency-free binaries available....I'll work on getting that set up as a demo...
