Originally mentioned in #59 as occurring at the Start Point and another room, as of Ubuntu 18.10 some images randomly show as transparent on Ubuntu 18.10 and the respective Linux Mint version.
For me it occurred in the bedroom in Barrens, when some of the four dream pictures were showing up as transparent. When filenames of two of them were swapped they all showed up and when they were returned back to normal a different set of pictures showed up than originally, so this issue occurs rather randomly. Before Ubuntu 18.10 this issue didn't seem to occur on any tested DEs.
All I could find by looking around for similar issues is this, but it's specific to Firefox and the fix was this.
Needs investigating if this is a side-effect of being run inside a virtual machine.

If I compiled it on Arch and then ran it on Ubuntu 18.10, it's not transparent anymore and it works as expected, so it only happens when you compile it through Ubuntu or Mint. It also happened on a live Ubuntu USB, so it's not specific to a virtual machine, in my experience.
