I turn the compositor off when you can see the outline around the console window.

How to reproduce: Have the KDE compositor use an OpenGL render method. I was able to have the compositor on when using the XRender backend without this happening.
Used both mesa drivers (on old computer) and proprietary Nvidia drivers with same results.

It is possible to have applications turn off the compositor when they open (I remember Oneshot did this before its official release) but I don't know how this will effect transparency I'm at the beginning of the game again.

Yeouch, that doesn't look like a fun bug, thanks for reporting this! @KockaAdmiralac, would you be up for looking into this one?

this affects me as well, running Debian 10 with LXDE and the proprietary nvidia driver, before installing xcompmgr (meaning I had no transparency).

after installing and turning on xcompmgr, I had transparency but the thrashing got a lot worse.

after then turning off xcompmgr, the thrashing went away as did transparency.
